Donations

For over 100 years, the members of the Crozet Volunteer Fire Department have served the community with pride and dedication. We are a 100% volunteer organization that relies on your continued support to supplement necessary resources. While our volunteers provide fire protection for the community, the company still depends on donations. Our dedicated men and women respond to your emergencies 24 hours a day, 7 days a week, 365 days per year - day or night, rain or shine. Our members donate their time and talents and often risk their personal safety to protect you, your loved ones and the community – and we do it willingly and proudly. But we can’t do it without your help!

When you think about how much to give this year, ask yourself what value do you place on knowing that your local volunteer fire company has the equipment and training they need to protect you, your loved ones, and your property whenever you call 9-1-1? Only a small percentage of the households we serve contribute to our annual fund drive, even though we are committed to providing emergency services 100% of the time our neighbors call 9-1-1. Please consider supporting your volunteers this year.

We are truly thankful for your past generosity through the years. Remember that your life and rescue protection is an essential service. All donations are tax-deductible and keep your volunteer fire company ready and able to protect that which is priceless to YOU!

Our volunteers train each week to enhance their skills and be better prepared to provide lifesaving services. They leave their families at a moment’s notice, ready to place their lives in harms way to protect your lives and property. This type of dedication and commitment is tough to come by, yet it is one of the reasons that Crozet is great place to live. These firefighters are your neighbors and co-workers. Hundreds of training hours each year are placed into:

- Responding to your emergencies
- Training and drills
- Developing prevention and education programs
- Participating in community events

The Crozet Volunteer Fire Department is a 501(c)3 non-profit organization that is partially supported by the County of Albemarle, but relies heavily on fundraising events and donations from the residents in our area. The Crozet Volunteer Fire Department provides service to the Crozet area and other neighboring communities through mutual aid when requested. Volunteer fire companies save taxpayers millions of dollars each year. With your help and support, we can continue to provide this important service to our community.

If you would like to make a donation, we have made it more convenient by setting up a means for you to donate by credit card through PayPal (you do not need a PayPal account to donate)

Today, three of Crozet’s members (1 senior, 2 juniors) participated in their final exercise for their Firefighter I class - a live controlled burn at the Fire Training Center.

We appreciate Albemarle County Fire Rescue Instructor Robert Greene for his exceptional leadership in guiding this Firefighter I class, which is comprised of several county stations and other local fire departments.

The CVFD is fortunate to have several state-certified instructors on our roster. Today’s exercise utilized the expertise of Captain Chas Sandridge, Firefighter Mitch Fitzgerald, BC Rodney Rich, and Chief Gary Dillon.
